YOUR FUTURE ROLE
In this position, you will be responsible for developing standard engineering processes and methods, along with mechanisms for tracking and continuous improvement. You will leverage experience and lessons learned to deploy processes that fit our business strategy and adhere to key global standards as they continually evolve (ASPICE, IATF 16949, ISO 26262, etc.). You will also act as a senior process coach to the development process engineers and project teams globally.
You will:
- Drive global ASPICE compliant product development through adoption of the BorgWarner Electronics Development Framework (EDF) and associated tools
- Develops engineering processes to ensure compliance with industry norms and standards. Models these processes in the Electronics Development Framework (EDF) using MethodPark Stages.
- Work closely with global engineering teams to identify and adopt best practices across regions, products and projects
- Institutionalize process and toolchain lessons learned from projects. Develop metrics to monitor process and tool effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop training material and transfer knowledge about the BorgWarner process, roles, and responsibilities to the engineering teams.
- Collaborate with enterprise IT to develop and implement corporate standard tool set strategies
- Align tool selection, development, and configuration to optimally meet process requirements
- Works closely with other functions to align the EDF process interfaces to non-engineering systems
- Work closely with the Quality organization to identify systemic compliance issues and implement solutions
JOB REQUIREMENTS

You have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Master's Degree preferred
- 8+ years’ experience in Systems Engineering; automotive preferred
- 5+ years of process development experience, including deployment and coaching of teams
- Demonstrated Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and/or Software Quality Assurance competency
- Comprehensive understanding and leadership of ASPICE based systems development methodology
- Working knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Cybersecurity standards (ISO 21434)
- Knowledge of embedded control software and software development processes
- Ability to work effectively across functional and geographic boundaries in the interest of the business
- Knowledge of requirements definition, change management and verification techniques (preferred)
- Experience using one or more tools for developing complex systems and products; Lifecycle Management, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; effectively communicates with peers, supervisors and customers
- Proven leadership and team building skills
- Proven mentoring and coaching experience
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently internationally
